M2 CS may be announced in September

I was told of my dealer that there is a high chance the CS could get announced at the Frankfurt motorshow, anyone else heard this?

Would be nice but BMW has a lot going on at that show. M5 launch in particular so would be odd to have another M car launch? Also X2 and i8 spyder. Also new X3.

Think they will keep CS back till October

I'm sure this has been seen and discussed but i saw this in AUTOWEEK in July. The author was likely guessing, but it is still possible they hold off until march I cant wait that long!!!! I want to be driving in March the day after the rain washes off the salt of an illinois winter!

"When will we see the M2 CS in the metal ... and carbon fiber? Likely at the Geneva motor show in March 2018, with sales starting during the second half of the year."

Dealers usually know just as much as we do. I wouldn’t put much stock into their speculation.

Maybe it's just a mix-up with the news about this base M2 LCI with added M Performance bells 'n whistles going into production from September to December 2017 (50 for the Canadian market - source: here):

My dealer just got back from Nurburgring and said he'd be surprised if the CS was delivered in 2018. Maybe he was just trying to convince me to not cancel my LCI order.

It will appear at some show without a price and possibly even without a launch date. Also look at the new Z4 concept announced yesterday.

That is not the dealer, but the sales team from BMW M saying that to the dealers and sales managers on the showroom floor... I heard the exact same thing two weeks ago from a German sales person.

Dealers would not sell enough LCI models if the whole world would hear that the M2 CS is coming.

That's a bit extreme I would say. I'm personally not interested in a ~$75k M2. Now for $55k it makes a ton of sense.
