Hey guys so today I did a wide open throttle pull against a m3. After I left him in the dust he mentioned my car had some black smoke coming from the Exhaust during wide open throttle. I?m currently on map 2 jb4 with downpipes and dci. Is a little black smoke bad/abnormal? Since I have a jb4 can I send a log and have my tune adjusted if it needs it? I just want to make sure my car is running fine. I can also upload the data log onto this thread if that works. Thank you

Black smoke is typically unburned fuel. Your running rich, any codes being thrown?

black smoke means you have carbon deposit in the exhaust for far too long. the solution is usually more frequent WOTs to clear them out...

on a more serious note, it's normal on a car with DPs. Mine used to smoke a lot more right after I threw on my DPs 4 years ago, not so much anymore after the first few months

Same issue. No codes but after a hard pull I can see some smoke out of the rear view

Miles on front O2 sensors?
What are fuel trims?

Yes to some degree. They do a lot to clean up exhaust but not unavoidable.

But I did have some people telling me right after I got the new IS that it had some 'smoke' out the ext. I got that cleaned out.. ;-)
