Exclamation Combustion Missfire Help

I have a 07 335i, MHD Stage 1, 3" Catless Downpipes, Synapse BOV and Chargepipe, BMS DCI.

My car has been running perfect, but randomly today I got "Combustion Missfire Cylinder 6", I looked around the forums but I couldn't find anything on combustion missfires, what is the difference between that and cylinder missfire?

Anyone know what could cause this, does it still have to do with spark plugs and coils like a cylinder missfire?

Thanks

Well in this case it sounds like the combustion is what's misfiring. So it must be the combusting that's the issue. In the other case, it's the cylinder that is misfiring, so the combusting must be fine. You need to replace the combustion with something that's more combusty. But leave the cylinder alone it's fine.

Try Di-electric grease around the OUTSIDE of the sparkplug boots. Just a bit. Watch a YouTube video about it. I have fixed more than a few misfiring 335i's by pulling the boots, applying a touch of grease with a Qtip, and reinstalling them. Good Luck

Well, previous replies not withstanding, the actual CAUSE is the gap on the plug had higher resistance than some other component in the secondary electrical system so that cause the arc to be jumped somewhere else (other than the plug). Traditional solutions involve first replacing the plug and then the wires and or (specific to the n54), the coils.

So, buy you a spare coil and put it in that hole and put in 6 fresh plugs in (unless they are less than say 10K miles) and see what happens.

Thanks, the coils and plugs have less than 5k km on them, I will still try swapping that coil and plug.

Will post with updates.

Thanks

Hmm if swapping the coils n plugs on that cylinder doesn't work, I might try this, thanks!
