Diameter of exhaust pipe (320i)

Dear e90 members,

What is the diameter of exhaust pipe for 320i ?

I am wishing to get aftermarket twin exhaust tips for my 320i to give a better look.

Please advise if you have any.

Regards,

aussie79

can we put 2 exhaust in 320d for instance that as only 1, of course with filter? ive ask ppl and E90 fleet as been a friend and advised
"If you have a 320d with a straight pipe, then there is a single chrome cover available for it.

If you want 2 pipes you would have to get a aftermarket place to fit another exhaust to your car, and this may affect your warranty" I think he answered your question as well which is quite similar, wont you agree?

hi guys. i did what u guys are aspiring to do. the weak looking single exhaust pipe for 320, 320d looks bad even with stock chrome trim cover/original. the cheapest option is to cut your pipe and put a y connector to make 2 pipes at the rear. check with your dealer ship about warranty. ac schnitzer do a y connector too but their double pipe is fused in the middle- looks like figure 8 lying on the side. plenty of good aftermarket y cosmetic pipe extensions around. have fun , guys.

alternatively, you could wait for warrranty to run out and get supersprint or remus twin pipe rear exhausts systems. can have conversion to quad look too. i chose the y connector pipe extension as it is least drastic and is the cheapest for a good cosmetic look.

The badge is on my desk as a toy i dont want badges in the car, only from factory. As you ask M suspension and sport seats, are very good, enough to make one s at 200 km / h, without unbalanced behaviour. One of these days a dog suddenly appears in the front of my car, i put the accelerator to the end, as the dog sees me, stops in panic and i made the s to avoid killing the animal. See no badge only hands! By the way the diesel makes the difference only because of turbo compression, without it its only a oil burner lol. Pleased to answer you ben LMAO as you say.

I was playing with you and commenting on the ///M badge on the left rear of the red car.

Yeah the brit with the M and twin pipe, red car but diesel, i think he his convinced or he is going to challenge one 330i. In EU lots of ppl think that diesel is very good, that modern diesel behaves like petrol engine, i know it isnt true but i have to accept that 6 litres by 100 km, 50 mpg is great. Ben if you need something just say, now its global

Can I ask, what is wrong with putting a ///M badge on the back of a "///M Sport" car?

Diameter of exhaust pipe (320i)

Hi guys. I have just cut the ugly exhaust pipe (320d) and welded a y connector to make 2 pipes at the rear with 2 x 80 mm diameter. Regards from Denmark.

Now THAT is a useful post. A lot of 320d owners will be interested in your photos, Claus. Thanks for sharing. Technically, of course, your car will now fail inspections, because the tip no longer points down, but it certainly looks a whole lot better

Claus - you will now need to have a particulate filter fitted so its not going to fail an inspection.

BMW UK now supply a Sports rear silencer exclusively for the 4 cylinder diesel E90. I quote: Reinforces the powerful sound of the BMW 3 series. With a mirror-finish stainless steel tailpipe". The exhaust has only just been released for sale as it was under test to make sure it met EU4 Legislation.
The part number is 18 10 0 398 920. The only down side is it costs £657.00 inc vat.

I would imagine that price includes the particle filter, so it's not too bad...

Surely not.

This is only rear silencer, PF is located at the manifold/cat.

I just fitted a Hartge dual outlet. They cutted out the last silencer, and fitted the straight pipe. It costed in the region of €300, if I remember correctly.

turbo, did you have a particle filter factory fitted to your car to allow for the exhaust to be fitted?

The exhaust I mentioned above does not include the particle filter, but it is a genuine BMW sport back box that meets all requirments once fitted for the car to pass a MOT in the UK.
