jb4 issues, is this shit broken?

I installed the Jb4 g5 iso. started everything up and all is well in terms no CEL or any issues.
I can navigate through the menu and select options. the only issue is it doesnt seem to save the settings....or apply them?

i even tried to set the shift light to 2000rpm to test if its saving, so i set the setting to 2k then pressed volume down button, followed by exiting the menu all the way at the bottom. i turned off the car and went for a drive...doesnt show the shift lights. went back into the menu and the setting is still saved at 2k....so the jb4 is saving the settings just not applying them? i dont even know...i tried applying many other settings such as the cluster sweep etc and nothing!

is it broken? seems like a waste of my money so far.....

If it had issues will BMS fix this? I have the BMS meth kit as well with integrater and this is super frustarating.

Triple check your wiring.

Don't assume that because you've checked it and it looks correct that it actually is.

Then go over to the n54tech forum.

Terri should respond.

A few people have had to update their firmware before the settings will save correctly.

i just went and updated to latest update, it saves the settings because when i select options now and press out of that menu it resets, which it didnt do before. still the same the cluster sweep wont work, shift flash is a no go etc..... any suggestions? i will be contacting terry shortly.

the unit works, and it communicates with the interface to let me update etc so i dont get it....weird.

It's either; a bad unit, the wrong unit for your car, or bad wiring.

The latter is what happens with the greatest frequency when problems are reported.

The other two are the easiest to fix. They are pretty good at getting you squared away.

Are you able to see engine performance data on the windows program?

also i dont get what you mean by l bad wiring? its colour coded and directionally marked. just plug and clip it back in....unless you mean the actual wires themselves are faulty?

If you bought it new you can email them for technical support. If used then you don't get email support but still can use the support forum. Just make a post there with photos of the installation and a JB4 CSV log so they can check your firmware/settings, and normally from that they can get you on the right track.
