330d / 335d Engine / Turbo DIY

Sold my 335i at the end of last year. Missing it like crazy. Now doing more miles and looking at purchasing either a 330d or a 335d.

Been searching but not found answers - Especially for the 335d, are the turbo's able to be replaced without dropping subframe / removing engine? I remember on the 335i it was extremely difficult. The turbo's on the M57 look quite accessible from what I can see?

I have a bit of mechanical experience, removed engines / turbo's before - and wouldn't like to put myself in a situation where I was relying on a garage to replace stuff. However, I would rather not go down the route of removing engines or dropping subrfames!

Can you get away with replacing most major components on 330d/335d from the engine bay?

Thanks
