Full 3rd-party detail before picking up your vehicle....

I have been doing some research on some local mobile detailers. One place was recommended to me called detailworkz.com, they have a extensive list of very high end cars that they detail.

One of their services they offer is a pre-delivery detail. They actually go to your dealer before you pick up your car and do a full check and interior/exterior detail. My question here is, has anyone every done something like this? Also is a full detail (wax and all) needed on a brand new car? I asked my CA about this and he has not heard of anyone that has done this. It sounds like a great idea, I would like to just get other peoples thoughts.

Hmm if they are a highly respected detailing service with great reviews then I see no problem with getting your car done with them. However, I do not recommend them doing it at the dealership. I think you should have them do it at your house so that you can watch what they do with your vehicle.

As for getting a detail when you receive the car: Yes, you should get it detailed. But not a full all out paint detail. I recommend Wash, clay bar, sealant and then wax on the vehicle. Other than that you are set in protecting your paint.

As for interior: a conditioner(Chemical guys leather conditioner(leaves matte finish)) and UV protectant (303 aerospace(leaves oem matte finish) on the dash would finish it.

You can do all of this work yourself but it will just take some labor, time and money. But then again you would have all the products for when you wash ur car again. If you do plan on doing it yourself and need advice on what products to get or just in general how to do everything let me know i will be glad to help. It is always great to help those who want to detail their own cars.

Thanks, I am going to see if they will do the same pre-delivery detail after I receive my car.

I would love to get some information on doing a correct Clarbar and wax. If you have any links or writeups for steps and tips on doing a complete detail that would be fantastic.

My dealer uses an independent detailer for cleaning and waxing prior to delivery. Mine didn't get done, however, because they wanted to get it to me before the weekend.
