Hey San Diego people....

Give me some advice. I'll be visiting down there March 11th for the day and staying the night. Myself and 6 buddies got a hotel room in Pacific Beach. Any suggestions on what bars/clubs to go out at night? Also...I heard you can drink on the beach there - is that true?

You're pretty much is party central if your staying at PB. PB bar & grill is a popular joint, go check it out.

If you're in PB, then you're clear for bar-hopping. There are a lot of bars and stuff all up and down Garnet Ave and side streets. Bear in mind that some places, like Typhoon Saloon for example, enforce a 'dress code' of a collared shirt on the weekends. Lame considering it's PB, heh.

there's also a new place one or two blocks north of Garnet and a block west of Mission Blvd (I forget the exact cross-street) called Tower 23. It's more of a chic bar/lounge then any of the other places in PB. It's a nice little place if you prefer that kind of ambience. They've got fairly good martinis, too.

if youre only gonna be there a night then id say hit up PB bar and grill. then just go with what ever happens. i dont know how many times we ended up at some random house party from there

but there are tons of bars everywhere (on garnett) and depending where youre staying they should all be walking distance. i dont recommend driving there unless you got a DD but if youre already close then a cab would cost the same as paying for a parking spot.

and yes you can drink on the beach there. no bottles. play some shoes in the AM and bar hop at night. i miss my PB days.

Hey how'd your ED go at Savage? Also, is PB bar and grill better than Typhoon Saloon?

ED was smooth. i made a mental checklist of things to look out for (no nav disk, no flashlight, bumps n scratches...ect.) and Bill just did his thing in his matter-of-fact way. even left on the ED plates on my car (which is still there

). but typhoon saloon is cool. theyre kinda on opposite ends of garnet so if you pick one youre more likely to stay in that area. but its more what you like. over at PB bar and grill its mostly a Bar scene (big patio area) and theres "club tremors" connected to PB bar and grill. which is a piss poor club attempt but ive seen plenty of hotties there. so its like 80% bar/ 20% club. while typoon is the opposite. theres a huge dance floor and only a lil bit of bar. the only thing is the music they play at the typoon sucks ass. oh yeah at typoon you cant wear anything witha logo on it. like a shirt that has "volcom" written on it and no hats. but most other bars in PB are pretty laid back about dress codes. but either one it should be fun.

PB Bar & Grill is lame. There's almost always a long line and it just sucks to get in. Once you get in, it is so packed shoulder-to-shoulder and you can't even find a table anywhere. So you end up standing and drinking next to strangers. What's worst is that this so called B&G is actually part of the lame "Club Tremors" - so don't ever wait in line for "Club Tremors" in the back because they charge you a cover whereas you can simply get into B&G from the front and walk into the club from the inside! Not really a club but a condensed room where sweaty people grind up next to each other. So unless you don't mind rubbing against other sweaty guys, go for it. It's lame.

Go to downtown. More bars, more clubs, more atrractions. Pacific Beach is overly filled with young college kids, anyways. You have the slutty soririty chicks and the hordes of meterosexuals who all dress the same. Go to downtown, the gas-lamp area, hit up the Yard House and go bar-hopping.

Clubs are only good if real DJ's or producers are invited. But by then, all the tickets would have been sold out weeks ago.

There is a new place called Tower 23. Thats a more upscale trendy place. But since your in pb, seriously there are clubs all over. I live about 5-10mins from there. Check out La jolla too, its pretty!

i agree about Pb bar and grill being packed. i didnt like it much cause it reminds me of frat parties and thats what my frat parties were for

. BUT if youre only going to be there one night and in PB might as well take in what PB has to offer. if you have an extra day i second the motion to go downtown. if you want some info for downtown then let me know. but downtown is nice but it can get pricey fast.

And i have to say la jolla is one of the most beautiful places in the world. i used to work at La jolla beach and tennis club and i used to take my breaks esting good food and watching the sunset EVERYday.

I heard about tower 23...we'll see what happens. But we can drink on the beach, which will be sweet. If you live that close you should come by and have a beer.

Anyone around should bring their e90s...I always find myself looking at other ones anyway.

I've been to downtown many a times. I've only gone out in PB once, to Typhoon Saloon and drank so much I don't remember it. So basically, I've never gone out in PB...

Hahah thats what most people say after they come home from PB. Ive had many friends get kicked out of bars in PB casue they were too plastered
