on a quick note, i need a new top hat a used one would work but i may just grab one from a junk car but now onto the huge problem that killed me

now i know your going to be like wow your a fool i know i am, i did not purchase a lock ring. we did the hammer and screwdriver method and it worked but heres the thing, the lock ring was on so tight that when we spun it, it spun the whole pump with it. Now what this meant was the top hat has that slot that slots in at the correct angle now that slot was on the wrong side of where its supposed to be!! im guessing this is part of the actual fuel tank... now rushing to conclusion i was gonna just shave off that tab just to seat the top hat properly and i damaged the part of the top hat....
Have you heard of that peice of the tank spinning like that

i write this after inhalling gas fumes for approx 5 hrs im literally way passed being high nearly hallucinating so just forget grammer nd punctutio bla bla seriously im sick from the fumes
