335D Radiator Fan Not Working

My car has just come out of the garage after having a new radiator, EGR removal, DPF removal as well as a Stage 2 performance remap.
The garage informed me that the radiator fan is not working and shows an error of 0041F2. The garage quoted me £600 for a new fan!!!

Is there a way of testing the fan? Could the fault just be a blown fuse or bad connection?

Thanks

You can easily test it in inpa or bmw dis. The test will run the fan up to 100%

They are not uncommon in failing due to moisture ingress in the motor housing.

I'm sure there's a diy on here somewhere of someone taking the fan apart and making repairs to a corroded solder joint.
