So a few weeks back I got the dreaded overheating message and figured my waterpump had died at 116k miles which makes sense because it was replaced at like 55k as well. I looked on my jb4 app and the coolant temp said 5' which struck me as odd. I switched it into maxcool mode and hadn't had the issue for a week or so until I had time to go to my indy. I took it to him on Friday and he was able to cycle the waterpump with his diagnostic tool at half and full speed and seemed to think it was fine. I switched maxcool off and put it into map 4 to watch the coolant temps and it overheated again and showed the temp at 240' and then it went back down to 5' again when ambient was around 70'. Has anyone seen this before? Could it be my coolant temp sensor not telling my waterpump to work normally when it isn't in maxcool? Or is my waterpump just failing very intermittently? Thoughts?
No codes as well. Thanks in advance! Ian |

The controls of the waterpump probably failed during your issue, but are not completely broken.
Wait to see what happens next, but I wouldn't take any super long trips.
