Seat position moving

I have had an issue recently with my seat position in the driver side of my m235i.
Out of nowhere the seat started to move back to the most reward position randomly if I clutch the car before startup and when opening the drivers door after a drive. I have tried about everything I can think of to try and resolve this but its absolutely driving me crazy. Allot of times I cant really stop it from returning to the rearmost position as its happening. This happens with both fobs although I typically only use one. Has anyone had this issue or know something I dont about the seating memory.

If it was only happening when depressing the clutch pedal, I would say that pressure on some area of the seatback is causing that rear seat access switch to fire; like there's some debris in the switch or something.

How opening the driver's door could cause it is beyond me. I'm not too familiar with any key fob ability to affect seating position, so I've got no idea on that front either.

Sorry you have to deal with something like that...it'd drive me absolute bat guano cray-cray, too. Maybe take it to the dealership?

You might be onto something. Checked codes today via JB4 and came back with some I have never seen before. I just don?t understand why a door sensor would affect the seat position.

No, but the seat just randomly quit with the erratic behavior and hasn't done it for about a week... don't have the slightest clue why... cleared and reran codes finding zero codes now. Rechecked just yesterday after not having any issues for a week and no codes found other than cat delete.

My F30 did this for the entire time I had it. It would do it during driving, getting into the car, and stopped at a light. However, it only moved the seat slightly. I just got used to it.

I have not experienced this on my M240i yet. Though I have only had the car for 2 months.

There is easy entry/exit, which can be coded. However, I have never seen a vehicle (on its own) decide to adjust seat.

My car has had the seat gremlin from day one. It happens on the drivers side or the passenger side, sometimes both. Fortunately for me it's never happened while I'm driving the car, it usually only happens on occasion when I wash my car and I'm setting off the lock when washing the door handles. Once it happened when I accidentally shut my trunk with my key fob inside in my gym bag. It's definitely an issue that they should fix although I'm not holding my breath.
