What's the perfect awd wheel setup?

Hello everyone,
I'm looking at buying a set of wheels for my 2011 335 x drive.
Should I be looking at square setup? I don't need anything super stanced, just a "well put together, clean set up"
I'm looking at ferrada fr4 in 19".
I have an e39 daily so this is my alternate ride. Not a track car or a race car by any means.

Would a 19x9.5 square setup be the way to go? What offsets? (I've only had rwd bmw's)
I do have the thread with the tire chart for the overall compatible sizes tucked away when I'm ready.

Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time!

I recently put style 195 225/18" F and 255/18" with conti DWS06 on my 2011 E90 355i X-drive along with bilstein B6 with Eibach prokit. It's amazing!!! not only does it look much better, it handles and rides much much better, especially at high speed 80mph+ the stability is much improved.
If you are getting 19" i would highly recommend getting rid of the stock run-flats, otherwise your car will ride pretty harsh.

Hope this helps!

I switched from stock 17" sizes to a 18" square setup (255s). The big advantage is that I can now rotate tires and get them to wear roughly evenly. Handling is better than before mostly since understeer is a little reduced. But I also switched to Michelin Pilot Super Sports which are my favorite tire.

No problems at all on my 2009 335 x-drive and I'd highly recommend that over the thinner front wheels.

From my experience with my 2009 996 though I'd recommend staying with 18" wheels if your focus is on performance and handling. Going up in size will raise your car by 1/2". In order to get back to the same height you either have to drop your car and reduce suspension travel, or decrease the tire sidewall. Both of which will make the drive noticeably harsher possibly to the point of being uncomfortable. Up-sizing is really more about bling than anything else.

Yes, the rub flats will be gone. I have 17" stock m sport wheels on there now so the 19" would be new tires. Definitely not run flats

Any pictures?
I understand what your saying, the 18 vs 19. I wouldn't need to slam the car any lower to accommodate the larger wheel, I just want a clean stance nothing crazy.
I do however like the idea of a square setup. It will give me some piece of mind when it comes to the x drive system. Even more so being able to swap around wheel and tires on all 4 corners.
I wonder if a 19x9.5 would fit up front...
