What parts if any are shared between E83 X3 and E90 325??
Like the subject says, I'm wondering what parts are shared between these two vehicles, if any?
The 3.0 E83 X3 I believe has the same N52 engine as the E90 325 correct? Except it might be more similar to the 330 since it has the 3 stage intake, better tune, etc. But for all parts and maintenance purposes I believe they are the same? What about drivetrain/suspension? Is the X3 at all similar or does it have a completely different subframe and everything since its an SUV. I vaguely remember buying parts (maybe steering or brake related?) that were shared across the two vehicles. Maybe its just the engine and that's it? |

Correct. We have two e83s in the family. They are basically e46 tech.
The later e83s got the updated 6 cylinder 3.0si motor and 6 speed auto. My 05 x3 is a soldier. 170k miles with only normal maintenance. My dads 2008 x3 only has 65k miles and has needed new coils new water pump and thermostat. |

Car and Driver (2004):
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...-30i-road-test They tested the new E83 and made some comparisons between it and the 325xi sport wagon. (2004, so it must have been an E46 wagon.) I considered the E83 when I bought my E91 -- IIRC both were available with 3 pedals at the time. The E91 was less expensive, IIRC.
