here's an idea to mod the kidney grilles

I have noticed how the X5, CS concept, and so on seem to have the grilles themselves made in aluminum look, with chrome outside. May be attached pic is not best example but im sure if you seen X5s and X6s you'd know what i refer to.

I was thinking of doing something similar to mine, to stand out from the crowd a little. I think I'll have to make sure it's prepped very well and so on, but potentially can be cheapest and interesting way to spice up the front. Just will searach some break up yard and see if i can pick up a set.

I don't like the full chrome look but thinking that this might do.

What do you guys think? Only reservation i have is that grilles are not 'meaty' enough, they are way too thin and not turned at angle but are straight. Something that's on Z4 would look much better of course.

And has anyone done this btw?

PS. Does anyone sell somewhow modified looking grills with thicker slats or turned slats? I'm thinking if someone did, I'd buy. Just digging tht mean CS look and would want something like that on my car.
