M performance front splitter without the fins

Is it possible to fit the lower splitter to the underneath of the front bumper, without the left & right fins?

I know they come as separate parts but it looks as if the splitter is made to be fitted to the fins. Personally i don't like the fins at all but do like the splitter.

For reference, the fins are part 1 on the part diagram, and the splitter is part 2, here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-BM...19.m1438.l2649

No.i just ordered like that. I assume that will look great.

For your info,
I ordered custom side skirts in carbon and rear diffusor in carbon too.

I order an m550 last friday. 20 weeks of waiting ... so can't tell you the result. But if you search online, you will find installatiion guide for g30 m performance part.

I notice you're in Canada as well. My M550i just went "release to carrier" today. I've been trying to get quotes for M Performance aero bits from my dealer and am having a bear of a time. Part dept claims they can't get the splitter or the spoiler bits or the black side vent trim pieces either. Prices they have quoted for carbon rear diffuser is stupid, looking much cheaper to bring it up from the states.

So my questions are:
- how are you going to mount the splitter, everything I've seen says you have to have the 2 spoiler pieces
- just as a benchmark, what were you quoted for the rear carbon diffuser? I was quoted 2214 and with exchange it is 1550 out of the US.
- where are you getting the custom side skirts in carbon? M performance is flat black only

Love the performance of the car when I test drove it but trying to upgrade it's mundane styling is looking damn expensive. Haven't figured out how to make it sound better yet. (I'm coming from an F-Type R which is rather over the top loud).

I too would love to know the answer to this question. How is the fitment without the "fins?" It looks like Canuck99 has the front splitter with out "fins" on his M550i: http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...09&postcount=8

Got it! I'd love to see the photos! Hopefully I'm not making a noob mistake, but I thought these were the "fins": https://www.getbmwparts.com/partloca...catalogid=4462

Aren't they the two pieces that go above the front splitter and below the fog light/vent? Thanks for your help!

That's correct yes. If you look at Canuck99s pics, you can see he has them installed, but they just blend in because of the colour of his car. Look at the last picture taken from the side, you can see it quite well there.

Thanks for all the info and help! It's so hard to tell in Canuck99s photos, but it's good to know that the splitter fits well without the "fins." I would still love to see the photos when you get a chance. Thanks again!

Cheers. I keep going back and forth on the mirrors. Probably will do it but need to save a mod or two for a later date for when the novelty wears off and I want to re-spark that 'new mod' feeling.

Question. Did you vinyl wrapped your roof or is it a paneramic roof? I wish they have that option in US.

I always wrap my white cars' roofs black. The sunroof in the middle of a white roof just stands out to much.

I was going to wrap the roof with carbon fiber vinyl, but I have white color trunk spoiler and got a painted roof spoiler, so I will just leave it..

If you wanted, you could wrap the roof and both spoilers to keep the look consistent. Just a thought
