The best wheels if you have a healthy budget seem to be style 275 BMW wheels in 21-inch size. They fill those big wheel wells very nicely.
See them (and all other BMW wheels) here: http://www.k-lach.net/ I have no idea where you would buy wheels for the X6 online. Perhaps Tire Rack have some, although they don't list the X6 yet: http://www.tirerack.com/ |

The 275's are the best choice, followed by the 128's. The rest of the 21's are nice. But the minimum should be the 214 (20") for such a large vehicle. |

128's would be my choice. Or the OEM black wheels they have for the X5's

The 128 looks nice, but I wish it had more dimension to it. Why is this style the only offer in chrome? I wish the 275 came in chrome...
Question to all: Is it better to get aftermarket wheels instead of going through BMW? Besides the price difference, do many owners decide to go to custom dealers or do they stick with BMW? |

On my X5 I have OEM 18-inch wheels and OEM 20-inchers. My wife's M3 has OEM 18-inch summer wheels and aftermarket ATS 18-inch winters. On my previous 540i I had OEM summer wheels and Moda winters. No problem with any of the wheels on any of the vehicles. |

In the past I was all for them, especially AC Schnitzers. Better looks and performance. However, things have changed quite a bit from then. BMW OEM wheels have definitely come along way (as far as looks) and there are now so many aftermarket wheel makers where "quality" is really questionable. At the end, if you know the quality of the aftermarket wheel is good and you like the styling and/or price better. Then go for it. I really like the current BMW OEMs.. except maybe some Alpina's or Hartage. ACS and Hamann have really lost it's appeal to me as far as styling. |
