Yo, everyone! New to the post and new to the E9x chassis in general. I come from the old school land of E30s and E36s, but I've been around BMWs since I was a wee lad. I've had a couple E30s and multiple E36s as toys, but my family has had multiple different BMWs ranging from E21s all the way to E60 M5s.
This was my last love, Leafeon. '92 325i convertible with a five speed. Dailied it for two years through college, refreshed the suspension and the motor, 2.5" catback exhaust to a Magnaflow, and did a few other small mods like M50 injectors, H&R sport springs, Z3 SSK and some aesthetics. Thing was a blast, but I just wanted something more modern for the daily drive that wasn't a convertible. So I traded for my current E92. Enter, Reinhardt. 2007 328xi in Space Grey/Coral Red with cold weather package and Logic 7 stereo. 155,000mi. Traded it off a nice fella here in the Springs and I've been thoroughly enjoying it ever since! Funny how I found it, though. I recognized him as a customer that came to a muffler shop I work at out here. We deleted the resonator and muffler and gave it a black chrome tip. (Although, I'm gonna change it back to a dual tip because it irks me seeing a BMW that isn't a four-banger with a single tip.) It has a few little annoyances that I'm addressing little by little, like my driver's side foglight not working even after I replaced the bulb, so I'm gonna have to troubleshoot the wiring, and the hideous condensation in the housings, but that's a minor concern. The first things on the agenda for preventative maintenance: - T-Case fluid - Gearbox fluid - Cooling system overhaul - Oil change - Spark plugs - Clean Vanos solenoids - Tires Other than that, it seems like a pretty solid car! It's literally decades in comfort away from what I'm used to with E30s. Cozy seats, awesome stereo, and now the paint is nice and slick since I spent three hours detailing the other day! Feels good. The ZHP knob is a nice touch, too. Eager to learn lots about this generation of 3er. |

I also have a Space Gray [best color for the E92!] '07 E92 328xi 6MT and in 2017 I still find it well-equipped and a great balance of luxury/comfort and performance. I rarely think about replacing it, and in fact, sometimes think "I better find another one of these now in case anything happens to mine." I've got only 80K miles on mine and hope to enjoy it for many years to come.
Anything you want to know about these cars is somewhere on this site... enjoy.

Nice ride bro! Congrats!
Just a quick note. If you feel it doesn’t have enough UMPH or GO power and you feel that you need to add mods (tune, CAI, etc.), forget it, it’s not worth the money paying hundreds to thousands of dollars for marginal HP gains as compared to much greater HP gains in modding a 335. If you just search for ‘328 mods’, there are tons of posts that have already covered this subject 100s of times from the pros to cons to ‘you should’ve just bought a 335…’. However, it’s your car so you can do whatever you want. If money is no object, do what mods make you happy. If you don’t care to mod it, it’s alright too. Just enjoy that ultimate driving machine.

It's more of a daily driver kind of deal that I'm gonna piece together little by little. Some nice coilovers, overhaul the suspension bushings, get some different wheels... maaaybe get a tune and redo the exhaust (although, I'm not sure what's out there for the N52 in regards to tunes, I'm sure nowhere near as much as the N54.). I just wanted something faster than my old E30 with some comfort and more ease of diagnostics with OBDII. I'm more about aesthetics and handling than power. |

There is a section for performance upgrades for the N52 engine you can go to for all kinds of upgrade info. NA Engine (non-turbo) / Drivetrain / Exhaust Modifications Definitely got to do the exhaust. For my 335, I got the BMW Performance Exhaust and love the meaner aggressive sound WOT. Sounds great from the inside and there's absolutely no drone. I bought my BMW PE via ECS Tuning and there is BMW PE offered for the 328 as well, if you're interested. ECS Tuning 328 BMW Performance Exhaust Have fun with that badness.
