I struggling to find definite info to say whether MP3 playback via the armrest USB will work on my car.

I have a F30 2014 320d Msport with iDrive, no NAV & no enhanced mp3 functionality.

Am I right that MP3 playback from the armrest should just work no matter what options I have? or could it be broken?

I have tried my 32BG FAT32 USB drive(used to work fine in my 2012 118d), this doesn't show up, i don't see any USB option on iDrive... nothing when I select CD/Multimedia

I have updated my iDrive by putting the update file on the same USB(proving it works this much).

Multimedia: MX-003.005.004
Telephone: TX-003.005.008

Also my radio did do DAB now it's just stuck on AM manual select...

Help! Im trying to avoid taking this to a garage - Sorry for the noob post, I have had good old search and not found anything definitive..
