Sad to see.... but that engine would make one hell of an awesome project car.

Posts like this make me want to hasten my retirement of my 1M. At 33k miles and 6+ years of ownership it's the longest-driven car I've ever had. Its retained its value, obviously.
The problem is that it's such an utter joy to drive that I am loathe to take it off the road were it not for the fear of the plethora of morons out there that could run into me. |

I would think any part that is salvageable on this car can be had for less that what its going to land at for its final price. Unfortunately this car is done. Even as a parts car its over priced. Right now at 9k is another 2k after fees shipping taxes. Way to much cash for a parts car. Hell even the wire harness is totaled.
Right now this car will fetch the same price as a e90/92 M3 that has less damage. Yes its a shame to see it hurt but on the other hand there are better ways to build a project car
