did some runs against my friends shelby gt500

ok so i installed my jb2x, dropped some 100 oct. in my tank and mixed it with my 91. i was running on 96 or so. i had the jb2x on 50% btw with the R switch engaged. went to my friends house to race his shelby gt500 with flowmaster cat back. the results blew my mind. we did countless runs, and the results are consistent i pulled on him everytime. we did runs up to about 130 and he couldn't gain on me. as he put it i "showed him my tail lights. i was ecstatic! he was so pissed. he wanted redemption so he took out his other cobra which is an 03' with 315 drag radials in the rear, that dyno'd 455 rwp. we went out and did some runs with this one and we were dead even!! i could not believe it. i have no other mods other than the jb2x on 50% on 96 oct. if you're gonna call bullshit dont bother posting at all. i was just stoked about what happened. feel free to chime in.

thank you. it was funny right after we were done doing the runs he ordered an intake for the gt500. he insisted that i must be running at least 16 lbs of boost and he wants me to race one of his friends in his stock c5 zo6 he was so butt- hurt. i dunno how i will fare against that one.

stock c5 z06 will be a close race where you still might be able to pull

Great story, I love the shock when people see how the 335i performs, its not the most HP car but for some reason it kick ass on the road. I was pretty dead even up to 120mph against my buddies SL600 V12 twinturbo. I know if wouldn't have sold my downpipes I would have been a dead even race to 140mph.
JB2X is the mod for the money hands down!!!!!!!

JB2HR is very fast. I ran so close to the elevens with that combo. The other day on JB2H, I gave some newer red Ferrari with a white racing stripe all that he could handle in 3 races up to 120-140mph range. I though he would waste me, but for some reason, he couldn't drive that car very well. I can imagine him thinking...WTF is that little 3 series sedan doing keeping up with my $200K Ferrari?

he runs DR's on it at all times. we took it for a ride on the freeway before we raced to warm them up. inthink if i wasnt running on stock runcraps i would have been able to inch him out a little bit

Yep, traction on higher HP cars is a real problem. My friend has an 03 Cobra with Mickey Thompsons and is around the 450 whp mark I assume. When I had an intake(no tune, had to take it out for some work) he walked me by about 4 CLs from 20 mph to about 80 mph. Not much of a race, but his car sounds so nice and really hauls its ass around town(and then back to the pump). My friend has a CTS-V aftermarket supercharged pushing 520 - 525 whp on a mustang dyno. He loses traction unless he starts from a 50 - 60 mph roll. Some kids just don't mess around.

But BTW good job on showing your buddy what a luxury car can do to a car that is usually stripped for the 1/4.

You should put in a full tank of 100 octane and turn the x to about 75%. or get dps and go 100% Then the car is a MONSTER!

I would have to agree

Actually, 50% with R switch ON is more like 14psi , depends on ambient temps though...

i can actually get race gas pretty cheap. 100 oct. usually goes for about 9 bucks a gallon but in huntington beach there is a place that 6 moths ago was selling it for 5.89 a gallon! now with this gas madness its about 6.89. which is pretty competitive
