Yay!
Anyone know how long it takes from “Production Begins” till it’s in my driveway in Philly? . |

I wish the website worked for me. I was able to add the car to My BMW but it keeps giving me "There was an application error, try again later" whenever I click on 'Track my BMW' link.
You probably got an estimated completion date, maybe Nov 3rd? I'm not sure how long it takes to ship, either, but was told that there's almost always a backup for the first few weeks of a new model and the first several runs show up together. |

At least for the M40i models it seems Production begins on a Wednesday and completes the following week Friday. Shipping is a whole 'nother ballgame with multiple variables involved. Your Dealership would be the best to provide usual shipping times from factory to your locale I would think.

Keep trying on the website. I sometimes have to come back a half hour later and then it would work. Must be server issues (too much traffic??) on their end. That said, all website ever told me was "in Production" and now "Finishing Touches", so it isn't terribly informative. My car began production on ~Oct 10 and finished on the 19th. Dealer in Houston area who says his intel was it would be there on the 27th. Though still thinks I'll have to wait till Nov 11 model release date to pick it up. |

Got my answer
So I finally got my answer. My 30i entered production on Oct 25 and I picked it up from the dealer and parked it in my driveway here in Philly today ... so that’s 11 days. I wish you all the same speedy production and delivery.

wow nice.... We entered production a week earlier and isn't being delivered until this week. Assuming it has a lot to do with the logistics of trucking and volume. More vehicles to Philly area versus Hudson Valley NY. But still not bad.... beats the time I had to wait for my 535dX with a ship crossing the Atlantic and VPC in Newark.

That being said - for folks that are tracking their production online - did yours look like this before Stage 1 Production Begins? Notice the extra step of "En Route to the U.S.". I'm assuming it will correct itself once production actually begins, but I thought it was funny - it gave me a flashback! |

You're better off calling 800-831-1117 with your production number and getting the automated production status info. The VRU reported my car as completed production and awaiting release to the carrier for a week before the website showed the car as completing production. And that system is a few days lagging behind what an actual customer rep or your sales rep can tell you. My dealership txted me on Friday that the car is arriving on 11/7, even though the VRU still states awaiting release as of this morning.

Wish that we all had the tracker. All I will get is the transportation tracking from the railway. Which is not very helpful as the transport is then handed off to a trucking company and that hand off is mired in inefficiency. My dealer told me not to expect my week 49 production until mid February.
