Still limping with V2 2/26 map

I kept the same torque settings (90%) accept at 5500rpm lowered to 88, 6k at 86 and 6500 -7k at 75% . Guess what , still getting the half engine top of third ! Any other suggestions Shiv that would work ? (getting frustrated!)

Do you have a boost gauge ?
What other mods do you have?
Why not start at 80% and go up?
Thats what im doing 80,82,84 and so on.

He has the settings at 75% at the top. Why do you think increasing the settings would help?

I would think it is really not about the settings in his case.

Why not use the Vishnu tech call back feature and save all of us this normal 'Shiv please respond' crap'.

Same problem here... Vishnu's comment: 'You know, you can always go back to the 1/10 map'.

Funny thing is that Shiv asked (in his release notes on the visnhu forum) to report limps with 2/26 and provide him with the data so he can work on a fix. Never heard back from him either.

BTW, has anyone ever heard back on the speed delimiter that has been initially provided with V2? The respective map was released but suddenly disappeared because of some bug. I guess one have to buy V3 now to get this!?

You can always get off the Vishnu train. Lots of alternatives. Yes, it will be disappointing to see that hardware sell for much less or be used as a paperweight.

I'm sitting tight right now through summer and looking hard at Dinan and/or the Shark flashes.

Need more info to help you out. Are you running a 6AT or 6MT? Any other mods?

If 3 or 4 people (out of hundreds) have a limp issue with a map, it's more likely to be a car related issue. I can run through the usual battery of troubleshooting tests to make sure its not something else (like strange user torque settings, miss wiring, etc,.) But after that, the only suggestion I can have is to run a previous map that worked fine. Few of the various iterations of v2 maps are inherently better than the others. With the exception of 2/26 map, the all had the same boost targets, timing/fuel curves, etc,. They only thing that differed was the boost control mapping since some cars required more (with other cars required less) duty cycle to achieve the boost targets. Now that we are seeing isolated recalls/problems with the wastegate actuators that BMW put in these cars, it's starting to make sense. The only reason this isn't a problem with v3 is we adopted a self regulating closed loop system to control boost. Will hope to implement this feature in v2 as soon as time permits.

The speed limiter feature was really never an officially "supported" feature. And yes, there was a bug that effected idle upon start-up in a handful of cars. It was fixed with v3. It will be back with v2 along with the CL boost control feature.

Thanks for explaining. I went back to 1/10 and it works fine since.

The issue here is again that
- you don't respond to emails
- you don't follow your own procedures/recommendations
- one have to post here rather than pm you or Dustin in order to get your attention.

I have always emailed Visnhu to figure out my stuff and I tried to be patient when there was no response. I know by experience that technical support can become overwhelming and I do fullly understand a vendor who refuses giving support on public forums. Hence I didn't post up my issues here. Apparently, I didn't get much credit for this.

As far as the speed limit defeat - this feature was the reason why i got the V2 and I had this confirmed by 'team visnhu' before ordering.

However, good to hear I don't have to update to V3 though this might be the faster solution. Quick questions: When will the V2 speed delimit update become available? Software only?

Thanks!

Shiv, do you realize telling your customers to upgrade to v3 and at the same time you don't sell v3 to your customers ? This seems to be possible only in the tuning business, I've never seen such before, honestly.

6AT and no other mods . I was runing v1-v2 firmwear with 12/11/07 map at 92% torque settings and no problems what so ever . I do realy like how this 2/26 map runs , much stronger than the previous map .

Similar problem here

I have similar issues with 2-26 map. Redline the car and it limps.

Shiv - i have emailed you a few times (you asked if I was part of the beta group) but have not gotten a solution. I drive a AT and have a catback exhaust.

Meanwhile, i lowered the settings to 50% from 6000 rpm onwards. Not ideal as I am not solving the problem but working around it

6AT here, no other mods. 1/10 runs fine so no wiring or other issues. 2/26 limps @WOT. All user torque settings at 90% standard. Good gas (95 oct.).

CarveOut, meinauto and muvaside--- At this point, I'd still suggest going back to the previous map if it worked for you. We designed the 2/26 map to be as global as possible with regards to a wide range of cars in a wide range of conditions. But without the PID based control system that we use in v3, we can only so much with it. We will import that feature into v2 maps as soon as I get some breathing room. It will require a simple firmware update as well. The next few days are tight since Dustin is on vacation leaving me to do all tech support. I can probably get to it towards the middle to end of next week. Should only take me a day or two to have something for you.

He does, only you must buy the entire V3 package. A great way to boost sales, make current procede customers buy the whole set up over again.
