Apple CarPlay - Map Selection
Hi,
Recently picked up a 435D which had Apple CarPlay specced. I'm on the fence at the moment as to whether it makes the whole experience better or worse but the one thing bugging me at the moment is maps! When pressing maps sometimes it uses the apple maps, sometimes it uses the idrive map. Is there any way to default this? I prefer the 'perspective' view which is only available on the idrive maps! Any links to guides would be much appreciated!! |

Is car play any good? Can you actually see your emails etc in it?

It still feels a bit gimmicky, although not sure if I've explored all it can do. Siri can read and send text msgs through CarPlay, although you can send messages through Siri without CarPlay anyway. BT connection wise it's pretty good, although I'm comparing that the the old ID4 which was really buggy rather than ID6. Haven't seen an option for emails, I'll have a look. Don't forget it's also only a 3 year subscription too which seems a bit stingy! |
