E92 Red Angel Eyes
Just replaced my 07 335i coupe, for a 2008 335i coupe. AW/ Coral Red
-I want to make the angel eyes red (to match the interior); I know it is the same bulb as the fog light. I can not find a red film, filter for the bulb or a red bulb. I could care less about the legality. My only idea is to paint the bulb w/ stain glass paint (something like this http://www.delphiglass.com/index.cfm...emsysid=185385). Does anyone have any better ideas for making the angel eyes red? -I wish I could also get the turn signal in red, however that bulb looks to be impossible to find. --Thanks in advance, Mike here are some pics of the new car: |

You could get a regular white bulb, and use stained glass paint and paint em red..

Old one had a lot of problems, first production run, got it Sept. of 06. Short of story is BMW stands behind their product more than any other company and the new car cost me $0.

just make sure you paint them with a couple of coats, otherwise they'll look pink..

Hey, he does not have a red H8 bulb. Mentioning painting was only an idea (I would not have posted if they were available from any of the sponsors). The e92 is strange b/c it is just a standard bulb. So yes, like what that e39 has in the pic would be great, little redder would be nice, but yes something like that.

you wont get any redder than that pic if you are using paint for a film filter. I tried both options in my E39 and the color was very faded and looked more orange due to the bulb naturally putting out a yellow color. Yellow + Red = Orange.
Your best bet is finding a aftermarket LED light system that just puts out red. However since none is available for the E92 since the AEs are so tricky theres no answer to your solution at the moment. The best you can do is perhaps a really red film over the bulb.

The first cop you see will pull you over. It is very illegal to drive with red or blue lights on the front of your car. It is fine for show, but not street legal. I bought a dark amber bulb for my front turn signal in my last car, and with the amber lens and the amber bulb it looked almost red. I got pulled over and told to change it with a fix it ticket. The very same day before I could even get home from work and change the bulb I got pulled over again and given another ticket, this one for not fixing it after being issued a fix it ticket. I fixed it and fought the second ticket, but it was a big PITA that I would have rather not dealt with.
Think the only colors allowed are white, amber and orange.
