Thanks. Can't understand why BMW didn't take the trim all the way to the end of the passenger side it looks weird

Modern design language. If they took it all the way across it would look more traditional. Just a matter of taste.

I also think that it looks like they tried to incorporate the hexagonal angles wherever they could.

Anyway, is that a way to drive a non-broken-in BMW with only 6 miles on it?

He claims the M40i is more powerful, more dynamic and comfortable compared to the Macan GTS he just drove, those are big claims right there.

Yes, that comparison seems a bit extreme.

I think he’s probably actually right. I think x4guys paraphrasing doesn’t quite accurately give the reviewers comments context. To me the reviewer was saying that the M40i felt as powerful as the Macan GTS, which on paper with 4.6s to 60 can’t really be disputed. He also said it was more comfortable, which also makes sense because it seems obvious that it isn’t going to be as track-tuned as a Porsche. Some people will like the sportier nature of the Macan, some will like the comfort and value of the BMW in comparison.

It’s one review, and from a BMW guy, so we can take it with a grain of salt, but I do think with the numbers the M40i puts down it is fair to compare with the GTS.

Agreed, hated this in the F30, and it's only worse here. It's all about cost cutting I would assume.

My favorite was when he turned around and went back thru the aforementioned school zone at 60!

You are right, my opinion is very subjective, I drove the Macan two months ago around the block, and I didn't get a chance to driver them side by side.

But bottom line - how fast do you want your SUV to be? When is it enough? To me - the X3 is above and beyond, plus it has much more simple design and comfortable ride.

Having driven both now, I would say the X3 M40i IS a bit quicker and feels better!

at least you were not trying to set any records like that Canadian guy in NY.

62 in a 25 School Zone; that would be a hefty fine.

I'd never drive like that.

Nice video. I drove the 30i and M40i in Steamboat Springs a few weeks ago and agree with your synopsis.
