Adding Speed Limit Display onto HUD

Quick question - how easy is it to add the Speed Limit Display to HUD. Car has the latest touch screen HU and Adaptive headlights.

Sure I read somewhere that it's a coding thing that can be sorted like EBT.

Thanks in advance.

Depends on which forward facing camera is fitted. I mistakenly didn't spec speed limit display as i stupidly thought the £800 HUD option would already have it.

I'm not sure. maybe the dealer could help. One of the systems is called KAFAS which is the one I think you need. Don't know if a VIN checker can help?

You can either use an emulator which costs around £200, but this will just use map data for the speed limits, it won’t read temporary speed signs etc.

Or you could source a used KAFAS2 camera from a car with SLD from factory, so it will have the FSC code embedded, then you can code full SLD. You would need the correct windscreen for it though, if your car doesn’t already have the KAFAS2.

It is also possible to buy the FSC code from BMW, but it is prohibitively expensive.
