Updating Map using USB

I've just downloaded the new 2017 - 3 map from the BMW Connected site.

I plugged the USB stick into the armrest cubby slot, but I can't seem to find the way to get the update started.

Any ideas?

It should just come up on the screen asking if you want to update!

2017-3 is old now though I've had the 2017-4 over the air update

Thanks, but nothing is coming up on the screen (idrive 6) could it be the format of the usb?

If the format is wrong it won’t let you complete the download process it should be fat32

It let me complete process (Which took ages!) .... I'll have a wee try again later tonight, but thanks for replies.

Not sure if this is applicable to newer cars but on my 2012 model I have to use the glovebox USB

It's now started updating .... It eventually started automatically

...then you will have to do 2017-4 next week!
