Bonnet release

My NS bonnet release catch is no longer securing the bonnet.

After looking at it, it seems it is completely seized, the cable still seems to be working.

I've ordered a working replacement off ebay but can't work out how to replace it?

See guides saying peel the front bumper forward but mine won't budge at all.

Any ideas?

So, when you drop the bonnet, the ns is sticking up slightly, because the catch hasn't secured it?

I just sprayed the moving parts of the original catch with a light oil, then used a large screwdriver to move all the parts of the mechanism from open to fully closed, quite a few times - it was only a little bit seized. After that the bonnet closed properly every time, then I rubbed some grease into the moving parts of the catch.

Essentially all the catches need greasing from time to time to keep them working properly

That's it mate yes, just pops back up on the NS.

I think it's the part at the back, where the bonnet release cable links up. It's seized solid. Tried absolutely covering it in WD40 but it doesn't want to budge.

Have you tried the search? must be a guide on here somewhere with some pics.

YouTube can be pretty good for jobs like that.
