Maybe try and seal it with some sort of high temp epoxy from the outside? If it did get worse having an intake leak after the MAF sensor would mess up your air/fuel mixture which is a definite no-no. I'd hate to have to buy a whole new intake just for that. Have you running water over the outside and see if it leaks? The intake isn't under too much pressure so some sort of repair may be the best option.

Heat resistant epoxy ... and for good measure after the epoxy is fully dry give it a few wraps of a heat resistant tape, as a bit of reassurance for when the epoxy gets old. Might as well go a bit above and beyond the first time.

As for the fix, it's not boosted so as others have mentioned, you just need to plug the leak. Any high temp epoxy will do. You could also plastic weld it, and that would be bulletproof. Worst case you can get a new one from a yard without the DISA motors for about $100.

Throwing epoxy on there will do nothing to prevent the crack from spreading.
I would take a small drill bit and very carefully radius the tips of the fractures to prevent further propagation. Then epoxy it shut. It will help to support the material from the inside when drilling. This will also help prevent the drill from dropping in, potentially into the other side, once it has drilled through the plastic. |

Still can't believe how much mine runs better without it - although so far I don't think anyone has made it work very well with headers yet.. |

Good to know! BTW, that one code that popped up after the flash, we figured out how to eliminate it. Bimmergeeks can tell you how it was done. He fixed that when he re-flashed my transmission.
