"Rear brake light failure"

I got this message today when I started up the car. I checked my tail lights/brake lights and everything seems to be working OK. Any ideas why this message won't go away?
I don't want to take my car in for progman 29.2 yet until all the issues are resolved. Suggestions please?????

Is it the rear brake lamp malfunction message?

There is a service bulletin that someone posted awhile back which for the life of me, I cannot find.

YES! that's exactly what it said! Is it possible to get it fixed w/out progman update????

Unfortunately, it may need updated programming.

I am afraid you are going to have your car serviced. I had the same issue, my rear brake pads has some more braking time left. They reset the light and adjusted its usage on the car's computer. you might want to go for the later one, i dont think a DYIer knows how to do it without the necessary tool.

I will have an extra brake light (Rear top lamp) if that helps

I have the same exact problem...so is a progman update required to fix this?
