Question possible to drill in head lights

hey guys i'm looking to put led strobes in all four corner lights. i'm not worried about the tail lights. but about the head lights. my question is, is it possible to drill a 3/4 inch hole in the front head lights in the turn single housing? plus i have xenon lights. also how diffucult of task is it to do it.
thanks
the hawk
ps i have a legit reason for it. i will be using it for construction

Thumbs up

What kind of construction? A 335 isn't for construction IMO. I work in construction industry and have a F150 beater.

That is unfortunate, no way you can strap them to your mirrors when your on-site instead of drilling your lights?

As for actually drilling them, I haven't the slightest idea of what effect that would have on them.

This is probably off the wall, but have you tried calling the local police force maintenance department? They seem to be pretty good at installing strobes in unmarked cars.

wouldn't you have to worry about getting condensation in those housings etc if there is an improper seal

I don't think it'd be a problem to drill where the turn signals are, but I'd get someone who's done strobe installs before to do it. Alternatively, you could take the ghetto route and find a bulb/base which fits in the existing hole and twist in the strobes onsite and twist them out when you leave but condensation would likely be a problem.

they are sealed, and do not drill into them. maybe put the flashers in your fog lights? Seeing as it is a lot cheaper to buy new ones if you decide to sell the car.

i talked to the look police install guys, they said that it need to be a flat surface and that if installed correctly that thier should not be any condensation because they put something about each light the make sure nothing leaks.
i'm just wondering is there some sort of ebay headlight housing that are a replacement for the oem one. but that are not at the full price.

I was just thinking the same thing - seems like it would be an easier place to put them then trying to get into the headlights.

Word to the wise: the strobe bulb generates a bit of heat. If you were to put it into the foglight housing, it would probably melt it.

I have an 01 Mustang, with strobes installed (F&R). On the rear, I have the bulb installed into the reverse light section of the tail lights, and it began to melt that area. If you intend to leave the bulbs flashing for a decent amount of time, I wouldn't install them there.

Didn't know they made those. If it's LED, you'd have no probs I would imagine. Most I've seen (and the one I use) are like this:

You have a link to an LED kit like this?

I've seen this done , but never on a light as expensive as what's in your BMW. I have a 2500HD I use to roll up on construction sites. Can't see using a car as nice as your for that. But if you must, there has to be a local installer that can help you.
