Vinyl interior wrap question!
Hey what's up Bimmerpost, I'm wanting to wrap the interior of my e92 335i. I have a Red leather interior with a silver trim outline. I'm wanting to do a Carbon fiber wrap, not because I don't like the trim, just want to add a sportier feel. What's the best/realest in your opinion vinyl that looks like carbon fiber. 4d/5d/6d/ or 7d? Please let me know!

I've seen a few different types but the main two seem to be just a simple carbon fiber "look" vinyl wrap that is smooth to the touch and then I believe there's the carbon fiber that you can actually "feel", if that makes any sense.

A friend has a 335, interior wrapped in Neffy wrap (neffywrap.com) looks and feels awesome, just as good as the BMW “Carbon Leather” trim in my M3. Can’t imagine anything else would look better than this stuff.
3M 1080 series also has a textured Carbon vinyl, adhesive already applied, easy to wrap with heat. Haven’t seen it in person though. Lots of pictures online of this stuff. Both of these are “dry carbon” look. NOT glossy. Good luck with your project, hours of work but well worth it in my opinion. |

I used 3M stuff in my old e46 and I was pretty happy with the results. As others have mentioned its 'dry' but if that's what you're going for its a decent option. Can always tear it off if you dont like it.

Where'd you buy your vinyl? I'm about to make some sideskirt splitters and was toying with the idea of wrapping it in 5d carbon but was concerned about how it would hold up in the elements since my car isn't garaged. Thanks.

Yeah, it looks real good. I actually have my interior wrapped with the "dry" looking carbon vinyl and I want to redo it sometime with the 5d, but it still looks good so I haven't touched it.

I got it off of ebay, I tried to look in my purchase history for you but looks like the seller is no longer on ebay. I just made sure it stated it was UV resistant and ok for outdoor use.
