VT in a month - needs new tyres all round

Afternoon guys. I’m about to VT my 430d, the car is in a great condition however I do need four new tyres. If I was to put cheap ones on before handing back would there be an issue? Or do I need to put the same Bridgestone Potenza on again?

Secondly, I’ve had a M4 style spoiler on since new, the spoiler has a couple of chips now from stones. Should I remove it (ballache) or leave it on?

Cheers

I VT’d mine a few weeks ago with some shockingly cheap new non-runflats as the front RFTs were very low and I heard they measure the tread. On the inspection they did indeed measure the tread but there wasn’t any mention of the tyres being cheap, their make or that they weren’t RFTs.

Thanks for the reply. Does putting non run flats on throw up any errors?

Garage List
Get some part worn tyres; I returned a lease car with part worn and had no charges and saved myself a few bob.

I VT last year and put some part worn RFT the day before it went back on, saved me a good view quid, you only obligation is to have legal tyres. Probably better to put RFT on

Technically, if you return it without the correct type of tyre (RFT), then they can change them for RFTs and bill you the full whack.

The car should be returned to them 'as standard'.

I went down the part worn route too - no issues.

The spoiler will be reported as damage so wither hide it or remove it. If you only used 3M tape it's doable surprisingly easily.

Yes get part-worn RFT.

You only need 1.6mm tread. I sent an Audi back last year with tyres on that looked like they definitely needed replacing , must've been just ok and didn't hear a thing back.
