Auto headlights on all the time - lost adaptivness - FIXED

As per title, I have been driving today during the daytime, clear sky, sun is out blinding everyone on the roads because it's so low, but the headlight switch set to "Auto" and the headlights remain constantly on, any ideas?

Today is the first day I have noticed this, the only thing I did last night was this, change all the settings to the "Default" column,

The only thing I changed was 4th row down, the function "KL_ENABLE_RE" wasn't available in section 3073, but it was in section 3066 so I changed it there.

Any ideas, please?

My headlights sometimes do this when the sun is low in the sky and blinding, i also usually just turn them off. There is a setting to change the sensitivity of the head light sensor with coding try FEM BODY 3130 change from normal to unempfindlich (insensitive). Let me know how you get on i might try this change myself.

Ah ok, so I haven't messed up anything inadvertently? That was my main concern.

I might try that, thanks.

Just went out for a drive now and realised that I now have no "adaptive headlights". And this is only since coding out the cornering lights. In Auto Headlights before the headlights used to move according to the movement of the steering wheel, now that's completely stopped, and I have standard non moving headlights.

Could this be any way related? Someone help please?

I would start by undoing the coding above - clearly something is not right!

Auto lights coming on in sunlight i normal - the system is designed to do this on the basis other drivers could be blinded by he sun and your headlight might make it easier for them to see you. This is in the manual.

I'll have a look at my scribbles from years back with my F30 and see what I can find in terms of fog lights - I definitely disabled them but can't remember how!

Put all the coding back to what it was originally. This is why you should always take a back up of the settings. Then change one item at a time and see what it does.

From my understanding of it the cornering light function is part of the adaptive-ness. It would normally swivel the light AND turn on the fog light. On a regular 3 without adaptive it would only turn on the fog light. On an M it would only swivel. I could be wrong but from driving various 3s this is the impression I get.

You could always feign complete ignorance and take it to a dealer. They'll probably reprogram all the modules which would put the car back to it original settings.

Yeh I'm gonna put those cornering codings back to standard, and see what happens.

From looking at my notes, it seems all I turned off was:

FEM_BODY>3073>C_CLC_ENA>"Changed to F030disable"

Makes sense when thinking about it, turning off the KL_ENABLE function is telling the module you don't want cornering AT ALL (which I guess you do to keep the moving headlights).

Also consider the MAPPING function is determining WHAT turns on/off so my mapping NEBELSCHW (Fog Shot - or Fog Light to us!) is telling the system to also turn on the fog light.

Then the Soft_on is telling it to do just that, rather than instant 'hard on' (who would what that! )

Brilliant, thank you, I'll try that and see how it does.

So you disabled cornering lights, and now you wonder why your cornering lights don’t work?

In the OP's defence, there are two cornering lights functions. The Adaptive bit that 'see' round bends and the foglights that double up as low speed cornering lights. I suspect he wanted to disable the latter and keep the former.

I reversed all of the coding in the table from the first post, and just left this coded;

FEM_BODY>3073>C_CLC_ENA>"Changed to F030disable"

Works fine now as I wanted.

Thanks for your help guys.
