Exclamation X6xDrive 50I can run with an E46 M3!!!

No that's not BS it can, not only in a straight line but apparently at the Nurburgring it posted a lap time only a few tenths of a second off the M3's time!!! only BMW can make an SUV (SAV in BMW speak) that can do that.

Suck it Porsche Cayanne Turbo!!!

This test is amazing!!! .90 on the skidpad, "handling data that matches up with the much lauded 335i", " handling characteristics are not unlike the new Nissan GT-R, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or Subaru WRX STI"!!!!Twice the storage area of most all Sport Sedans!...Are you kiddin me! Nuff said! Thanks.PalBay

well ... after Procede V3 was installed we took it to do some datalogging and to see the difference ... I was speechless after we drove for about 25 miles or so ... Shiv was driving it and we were going 80-100 in the areas with 15-25 speed limits. I never thought that SAV can sit on the road that well ! So, at this point I am not even sure if the M3 can perform that well.

just my 5c

Of course an M3 will dominate an X6 in handling. However, this is true only when a proffessional is on the wheel.

With standard skill drives like us, X6 is a much better road handling car with its DPC and xdrive and all other hi tech stuff that corrects your mistakes

Actually, 10 seconds off the M3's time, not "a few tenths". Anyway, the trouble with testing at the Nurburgring is that the Nordschliefe circuit has so many blind and off-camber corners that somebody who knows it well will always beat someone who doesn't, no matter what they are driving. How many corners does it have? 160? Around that, I think. 8 minute lap times, so it's a lo-o-o-ong track.

The X6 did beat a Maserati by two seconds, so it's no slouch. But BMW aren't saying who was driving.

+1 A new trend in SUV's is emerging. The folks at Porsche and MB have to be shaking in their boots.

BMW has broken new ground w/ the X6.From the first time 3.5 years ago my neighbor returned from Munich and described the clay prototype of the X6,I sensed BMW was on to something big.Maybe because I was a perfect target customer ( some SUV utility, very sporty profile and very sporty driving experience)....the concept of the X6 made perfect sense to me.My neighbor ( a Dept Mgr at the Plant), was not sold on the X6 early on, as was quite a large number of local employee's).Whether you love or hate the X6,you have to tip your hat to the leadership of BMW for having the guts to stick out the development of this very unique automobile. As I've seen posted on this forum and many other X6 forums, the X6 has overnight, made all other SUV's look like "6k Flying Bricks". Just look at the side by side pic's of the X6 next to the current X5,RR Sport,Porsche Cayenne......etc. Thanks! PalBay
