HELP ! I hate the sound of my exhuast !!

I just installed the ur catless dp's and harman exhaust and I HATE IT ! waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy to loud and crappy sounding. I have a e92 auto and I hate the sound. I needed the primary cats and secondary cats deleted so I could run the stage 2 map for my v3 .... that's the only reason I did it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this. I'm keeping the dp's for sure !

Should I put the stock exhaust on and just remove the secondary cats from the stock set up ? or try adding resonators to the harman set up. All I want is the performance with some quiet I guess...

Help

thanks

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you did some research on the Vishnu Harmin exhaust, its been stated that it drones like a motherfu....er and very loud....I think with DPs installed it intensifies the drone and loudness of the exhaust....I am sure adding resonators will decrease the sound a bit, but the drone will still be there and can get quite annoying from the research that I have done on this exhaust when I was buying an exhaust!
CP-E or AE has one of the nicest sounds and tones for an exhaust...I would sell the Harmin and invest in one of these two companies

I dont know much about exhausts, but I went thru 3 to get the sound I wanted, and I was much less aggressive than you are (stock downpipes). I finally ended up loving Bastuck with the secondary cats removed.

I hate yet to hear any fully catless exhaust system that sounds drone-less. Some may sound more metallic than others. But the all will drone. Just the nature of the beast. You can use non-straight through mufflers to quieten the sound. But they are awfully restrictive and will cost you power.

i'd say get rid of the harman exhaust. its known to be one of the loudest exhausts and it drones a lot. i'd say sell it and put on your stock exhaust and if you wanted later on you can remove the secondary cats

Exactly my setup, and I love it.

Here is a vid:

When my RR catted DP's arrive I'll be installing those, as well as the Logic HVI intake! Hopefully she'll purr, then she'll roar!

Very simple. I had the same situation. Just get a dual in dual out magna flow resonator. They are small, and go right under the driver/passenger seat. Then follow back to 2 individual magnaflow mufflers. All with 2.5inch pipping, and the drone will basically be gone, and it sounds AMAZING. No joke. the resonator should cost about $120 installed, and the 2 individual magnaflow mufflers are 110 each installed, so figure that with whatever they charge for the rest of the pipping, and you will have an exhaust that destroys all others on the market.

I would keep your DP and secondary cat del. and throw on an Eisenmann Sport muffler to shape the sound. I went through a few iterations for my exhaust as well, and was not willing to settle for something I didn't absolutely love. I ended up with UR section 1 & 2 and Eisenmann Race muffler and am in love with it.

the milltek sport system comes with a set of resonators in place of the secondary cats. . . . the sound is deep and drone free. $1400 from stratmosphere.com

I agree to an extent.
It can be done correctly, but there usually is a tradeoff.

I have:

Catless DPs
High flow cats in the middle
X pipe
Borla single muffler

Absolutely no drone

I will gaurrantee that if I took the HFC cats out, the sound will be exactly the same just a tad raspier.

I had AA with no cats and it was perfect. Of course the system I received looks great also. It has the same tendency's that the e46 M3 AA system had in comparison with Eisenmann on both models, similar specific brand sounds. Every AA exhaust I have heard in person to date sounds like a good ole' AA haha. But seriously, even with DP's it was decently quiet, very good in cabin, without DP's it's almost too quiet.
