Help! Trunk won't close after Blacklines installation

Guys i need some serious help, I just installed the blacklines and they look great and all, but now my trunk wont close! I have all the lights alligned (taillights and trunk lights) , so i dont know what to do.

The only thing I can think of is the trunk latch release or the plastic still on the lights, but I dont think those things would really interfere with closing my trunk. Only other option is to jump into the trunk and see whats causing it not to close, but I don't want to get locked in there at 12:30am.

Any suggestions/ideas?

I'm not an E90 owner, so forgive my ignorance... Is there a passage from the back seats into the trunk, or can you fold down the rear seats? If so then maybe you can see what's causing the blockage that way.

How are you going to see in the dark after you close the trunk?

Using NVGs, of course. Is there another way?

Speaking of the emergency trunk release, when you pull out the clips the inner trunk liner hangs by the trunk release, and pulls on it... so is it possible the trunk release is still being pulled (hung up on something)? If so it might keep the latch from latching?

Unfortunately the rear splitting seat is not standard in the E90s. You would need to have it select as an option.

That is what I would suggest along with the trim piece alignment on the trunk lid. I did mine and luckily didn't run into any problems.

I had the same issue with the trunk not closing. After 5 mins of thinking what it could be, closing it slowly, looking and checking everything I could think of, I finally checked the the emergency pull. Sure enough, that was the cause.

I had this happen once to me.. it ended up that the latch got jammed. All i did to fix it was to push on the metal latching piece on the lid itself until it locked and then used the fob to 'open the trunk' while the lid was open. Doing this reset the latch and i was able to close the door.

Disclaimer: dont try to close the trunk without hitting the open trunk button, you could completely destroy the latch.

Ok, i just got back home after driiving 30 min. to and back from work on the major highways with my flashers on.

I opened up the trunk liner again and sure enough it was the emergency trunk latch.

Question I still have is, does that metal clip attach to anything? When I attach it to the trunk (thin piece of metal of trunk), i have problems with the latch not stretching far enough and causing the trunk to close. When I don't attach the metal clip to anything and seal up the liner and shut the trunk, it closes. ? Is that metal piece really that important? lol

I guess i'm just technically challeneged
