Dinan warranty question....

I have Dinan flash (rev 0 stage 2) and know about the basic dinan warranty which will cover the car to 50k.

My question is this , what are my options for 50K+ mile warranty ???

Should i buy the aftermarket warranty from a bmw dealer ? will the warranty company have problems/or i have problems getting coverage on the drivetrain ?

Since the aftermarket warranty company will cost 2k or more couldnt i just buy another 2k dinan part (like upgraded cooler, etc) and gain another 2 year warrranty ? I'm guessing dinan would provide 100% drivetrain coverage if this was the case ??? then when those 2 years are done buy another 2k dinan part and have another 2 year warranty ???

Now I understand the Dinan warranty only covers engine/drivetrain stuff and the aftermarket would cover electronics etc.

Any thoughts ??

thanks

There is a good article in the April 2008 Consumer Reports regarding extended warranties. You may want to pick it up. CR's conclusion is extended warranties are more of a "prepaid repair fee" rather than a warranty. In other words, legally different rules apply for "extended warranties" and in most cases these programs are not consider warranties as defined by federal law. These companies make a killing with their "wear and tear exceptions" to repair work. Happy hunting.
