Coolant hose cold after journey
Hey folks
First thread here so hello to everyone! I have just picked up my 2015 430D a few days ago and I'm loving it! While looking it over yesterday I had the bonnet up having a good look for any leaks etc. My hand brushed against one one the radiator hoses and to my shock it was still cold. I had been driving around with car up to temperature for about 20 mins or so. The hose in question is on the left hand side (if looking at the engine from front of car) about half way up the radiator. Check the picture below. Item number 4. Is this normal? Or could it mean a thermostat needs replaced maybe? Thanks Greg |

Diesels run very cold, often not heating up even after 10-15 miles.
You'll need a code reader that can read the coolant temp while running, connected to the OBD port, to figure out if the thermostat needs replacing. Meanwhile, search the e90post diesel forum for the subjec: http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=377 and read this: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...=594801&page=2 |
