Comfort Access

Does anyone who has already taken delivery know if the comfort access feature can be turned off if the car is specified with it?

For a number of the options I would like it's far more cost effective to get the comfort pack (UK) but I'm a little wary of the security implications of comfort access.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure but I haven’t added it due to security issues. This in news today:

If you do get it then worth getting Autowatch Ghost for peace of mind.

Good observation.

It is not always an option in the UK, but where you can, keeping the car in the garage is one solution when at home.

They seem to need to be able to receive a signal from the comfort access key. According to the article their device is foiled by metal. So keeping one's car key in a metal box at home might be a quick answer. It also solves the "Where are my bloody keys" search that seems to happen each morning

Because of RFID scanners, I keep enabled cards in foil sleeves. Recently, I have found that some cards are shipped in them.

Thanks for the replies and ideas.

Might look at removing the comfort pack option and just specify the bits I want (extra storage, heated folding dimming mirrors, rear seat recline and acoustic glass). They come to almost the same price as the pack though which is mildly annoying.

Like the rfi case idea though.

I'm in the US. I checked the idrive menus and I don't believe you can disable comfort access. Anyone else rep this?

So I talked to my local service department about this because my F31 got hit. They can disable comfort access at the dealer, but it's not an end user configurable option. I ordered a faraday bag to keep my keys in at home.
