Rough cold idle mis-fire
2009 328i manual 75k
It started with miss at 2500-2900 rpm under load. Then I got a misfire code in #5. I knew I also had a leaking valve cover gasket. Changed #5 coil, all plugs, and valve cover gasket. Now car misfires and rocks at low idle at 500-600 rpm. Runs ok at 900-1000 rpm idle and faster. I've swapped coils back and forth, and consistently get firing order 1 of 1 and 2 of 4 codes 0029CD 0029CE, which I think are cyl 1 and 6. I haven't tried swapping in the old plugs yet. Any ideas??? |

No, plugs are clean and dry.
I think I got a bad coil pack from AA Ignition off Amazon. Putting in a new Bosch Coil helped with some of the problem. I got to play with the fuel system today, which wasn’t so bad. I flipped the 1 & 3 and the 4 & 6 injectors. The remaining code moved, so mystery should be solved when the new injectors arrive (I’m replacing both, though only one is known bad).
