Help with Angel Eyes
Please no flaming buys, I have an 07 328i with Xenons and would like to have the the DLR angel eyes I keep seeing out there. I've searched the forums and have not found an answer to my question:
Given the model and Xenon lights I have, can this be done without installing additional equipment? Is it a matter of re-wiring? Can I do this myself? Thanks in adavance. |

I don't understand your question. You HAVE the DRL angel eyes. Do you want to change them to a different color? |

Again, I'm sure I'm pretty lost about this topic. I do have the DLR but it's the inner headlights without the outter angel eyes part on. I just want the cool outter layer that I think you guys call angel eyes on. I hope this makes sense.

They go on automatically during the day, if you switch the headlight mode to Auto. If you want them on at night, you have to turn the knob to the second to last mode on the right. I personally roll with only the angels and fog lights on at night. Badass look. This is all assuming you have an E92..not sure if E90's work the same way. |

I bet you have an e90 (sedan) since your DRL's are the inner halogen lights. If you want the angel eyes, aka the corona rings, you'll have to go the aftermarket route with LUX or something else cause I don't think e90 328i comes with angel eyes

Turn off you DRLs through the menu. Look in your owners manual and it will tell you how too....

Thanks for the response. Once I turn off the DLR through the menu what is the next step? Please, feel free to comment like you are dealing with a retarded person who doesn't know anything about cars - I don't.

Here are the facts. The 2007 E90 Sedan Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) are the inner halogen, not the "Corona Angel Eyes" as on the E92 coupes. The E90 M3 has had some promo pictures taken with the Angel Eyes as the DRL's. (I'll find and post later)
I took my E90 335 to the dealership today to see if they can make the change for me. The guys there kept my car for the day and turned on my halogen DRL's. I walked the service guy over to my car and showed him what I wanted done, he said they are going to email BMW to see if this is a change that can be made by the dealership. I'm suppose to call back tomorrow and find out. I'll let you know when I find out.

I do work with building the LUX angel eyes as well as opening the headlights. I can do just about ANYTHING inside those headlights as long as you have an idea. Ghost chrome instead of the black, painted to match the car
additions LED's in there, accent lighting, you name it, i can do if for you Your best bet is to get a set of LED angel eyes - LUX 5 is the brightest there is ! here is LUX 5 |

If any e90/e91 325/328 from the factory comes with xenons, then they will have the angel eyes. Xenons are/were an option for the e90/e91 325/328. So, it is possible that his 328i comes with the xenons and angel eyes from the factory.

i think what you want to do is unplug the harness to your adaptive xenon lights, and find the two wires which power the "halo/angel eyes" then setup a separate power source to them when the car is "running".
This would give the E90 (drl off) the same effect sort of as the E92. I'm going to figure this one out. really can't be that hard theres only a positive and negative on that connector going into the headlight assembly. With a 9V battery and connector with two bare wires you can probably find which ones need power. you would probably be able to do this same mod to engage the fogs full time as well. on my audi i just recoded the car to another nation (europe) so i could roll with fog lights only on. and i agree it looks tight. Just remember you are modifying your lights, a DOT protected system and if you get into an accident and they find it, you could lose your azzets, house etc. Think long and hard about doing things that can put you are your families fortunes at risk.
