Redline 75W90

I have have 2 quarts of unused Redline 75W90 from my last BMW. I now have an 08 E93 in need of maintenance. Is this the recommended oil for Rear Differential? Or can I use this for something else? I have an AUTO tranny. I want to say this was left over from doing my rear differential on my old X3 but I forget now. Just wanted to confirm.

75w90 is the recommended grade for BMW diff', brand is down to personal preference, I'd bang the redline in if I were you with having it.

OEM VS RL

My thoughts were that the RL 75W-90 is great stuff but has to be changed more often than OEM fluid.

Thinking every 50K on OEM and 30k on RL diff fluid are appropriate intervals for non-track cars & for owners who don't buy into the lifetime bull.

Redline has some good products though and their 75w90 is probably not bad, the numbers tell a different story.
Compare the viscosity at 40c of redline, motul, oem saf xo and add to the mix Rowe 75w90, another good oil. Redline is way too thick. Cant even imagine how thick it would be when its actually cold. Thats because of its low viscosity index. motul, rowe and oem have comparable props.

I took a look at the diff yesterday. I have an 08 E93 335i It doesnt seem that easy. Looks like a huge hex socket (assuming that is the fill) and another bolt to the side. The issue is I have all these cross members under the car that appear to meet up right at the differential. Anyone provide some insight on what needs to be removed to access the fill plug?

Support must be removed. No separate drain. Drain-fill all in one. Best is to lift front and use 1L of oil to rinse/flush the diff. Then 1L to refill it with vehicle leveled.
