AA Active Processor limp mode at drag strip

I got my first limp mode since install of mid Apr. I was doing a 1/4mile run. It happened when I bounced of the rev limiter in 2nd or 3rd...half engine light and SES came on. Car was misfiring for a few seconds afterwards, but lights went off after 20 seconds of driving.

should I get the codes read and cleared? which reader do I need?

Any OBDII Reader will read and clear the standard OBDII codes. The extended BMW codes, which are stored in such a case in the ECU as well, can only be cleared by a BMW service computer ( DIS ).

So this happens when you bounce the rev-limiter. A good explanation why I never had problems with my steptronic car, where you never bounce the rev-limiter. Is AA aware about ?

However, IMO the tune should be able to handle this.

i had the same thing happen to my E90 automatic. It happens when you hit the rev-limiter. when you shut the car off and turn it back on, your fine. You will get (2) codes that read as misfires. Your fine, don't sweat it...

one of the times i had done it, i was almost at read line and hit a bump and my tires must have came off the ground and made me hit the rev-limiter sooner then it should have because of wheel spin. This was actually the first time it happen. i thought one of my intercooler pipes feel off, cause thats was it sounded and felt like.

You all should escalate this to AA to get a new map. Thats my thinking about.

Other cars like mine had zero issues.

You may be unaware, but i did email Omar back when it happen. I suggested maybe wheel-spin before i knew what it was and he said, Yes, that is what caused it and it has happened to a few of your customers cars.

Right there is an example of AA. When i originally purchased everything, i was told a number of false and misleading statements by the sales rep. After i spend over $4000 on parts, everything changed. And it's my own fault for rushing because i need it done in a certain period of time. But i put my TRUST in a BMW "tuner" and got shyted on.

AND even better, i found out who makes their FMIC and BOV kits. The markup is a good 350% or so. I was lied to and ripped off. Now thats doin business

So i have decided to sell ALL of the AA products i have and takin a pretty good loss too. I definitley learned something from all this...

sorry to hear about your experience. their customer service has been good to me and the AP has been very reliable so far and in comparision to other tuner records. I can't speak about their IC, BOV, or cat-back, however, as I don't have them.

I would like an FMIC map however, but not sure about V3...Helix looks promising. See how they perform first.

Hope AA have one and don't charge me for this as it would would be good customer service and the R&D would be recovered fairly easily IMO.

I am trying to find out everything for you.

You are correct if the wheel speed sensor see's something is a miss that will happen.

We design our BOV's as well as the IC's.

I actually remember speaking to you over the phone once, on the other hand the products you have treated you well and have done their job.

I apologize sincerely for how you feel.

One of my biggest up-sets was the fact the i was told that the Processor would come either with a base map or a map for what is done to the vehicle. In my case, because not everything was being done at once i order with the base map. When everything was complete, i called for a new map. I was then told that there is only one map and there are NO plans to have any others.

I then questioned why and what about the other companies the are constantly updating version. With a cocky attitude, the response was that the other companies are fixing issues and the AA processor doesn't have any issues. They are happy with the way it is have no plans to make it any better. I can understand about fixing issues with updates, Microsoft does it all the time with Windows. When you fix an issue, you can also do things to increase performance.

The only thing AA has over the top performers today is pricing. Now that HELIX is completed and shipping, then can and will blow AA out of the water with the same pricing of $795. And just wait till you see what CP-E has to offer.

I just want those who are doing the research to know the facts and learn from my mistakes. This way they dont make the same mistakes that i have...

All the piggy's get this from time to time in WOT 3rd gear shift. I got it with my JB2R at the 1/8th mile track. It's boost related and I dont think there is much to do about it and nothing to worry about. Just hope that you dont get it on your next run and relax
