HELP P0015 P054b after valve cover replacement e90
Hello, 2011 328i e90 n52
I replaced the valve cover because the pcv valve was bad... (whining noise that went away when I removed the oil cap.) I reset the valvetronic motor by cycling the key on and off after the installation. I did hear the motor working. The whining went away but... Now I am getting 2 codes and a rough idle. P0015 and occasionally a P054b. The car runs and drives fine. Mostly just rough/noisy idle. Sounds like valve knock. I swapped the camshaft position sensors and erased the codes to see if the error moved from the exhaust to the intake side...nope. I cleaned and swapped the vanos solonoids to see if that would change the codes....nope. Both times I cleared the codes. It would stay clear for a drive or 2, then return. Most of the time just the P0015. Side note: I did short out the large red wire that runs over the top of the valve cover when I was securing it to the terminal where the jump start post is. It took me 20 seconds or so to remove my ratchet and I had to jump start the battery after that because it apparently drained it. pss.. I also changed the oil |
