e92 325i N53N30 power from Berlin / Germany
Hello e90post community,
I hope this is the right place for my post My name is Floris from Berlin / Germany and I will introduce you my BMW e92 325i N53. Yes I know it's not a 335i, but I have tried to come close to the stock power of the N54 engine with my tuning. I hope you enjoy my car story and give me some feedback. I own the car for 8 years and I have changed a lot of things. First I will give you an overview of the biggest tuning things I have done on my car and will show you some pics. I have many ideas for some new little projects and will update this thread in the future. For more pics on Instagram: bmwflowrider Modifications: - alcantara interior - performance exhaust - performance seats - performance steering wheel ONE - performance carbon air intake - performance front splitter - performance carbon diffusor - M3 mirrors with carbon performance covers - M3 DKG cluster - M3 camber link - M3 stabi front and rear - M3 front tension struts - M3 strut brace carbon - carbon trunk - panasonic navigation - front brake 335i - Stage 3 with header without cats - and many other things - power: 290 hp Last edited by pirate-ratz; 01-04-2018 at 01:24 PM.. |

Thats a great looking car with great mods! I have the same kind of tune (with 3im) for my e93 325i. Done by Mosselman in my case. 272 at the crank is very driveable
I browsed your instagram and can see you have the Bilstein b12 pro kit? Eibach springs and Bilstein b8 shocks? Well, in my case, about a year after I installed it, clunking noises seems to come from the front suspension when driving over small bumps. Have you or anyone else experienced the same? It is driving me crazy... |

Yes it is the same tune like Mosselman. Mosselman was the first tuner in europe with this kind of tuning for the N53 engine. I have no problems with my Bilstein setup on the front. The only problem on the front make the M3 parts, wishbones and stabilizer. It is much more solide. On the rear I have the M3 shock absorbers in combination with the Eichbach springs. Do you have any M3 parts on the front axle? Maybe the M3 stabilizer? |

Yes you are right You need a proof.
The stock engine comes with 218hp. My tune: - BMW performance exhaust - BMW performance carbon air intake - 330i intake manifold with DISA - air scoops - software from https://www.leib-engineering.de Here are some pics with the dyno in 2013: Now I have the next stage with the headers. For this stage I don't have a dyno but I hope it brings some hp more I will try a dyno this year. Here the old and the new header: |

I have 08 325i E92 with N53 engine.
I don’t have any relevant dyno because since I had the remapping done by DS Motorsport in Germany I have more modification done. I have BMW Performance air intake, aFe headers, Supersprint cutless exhaust with NOX simulator. Right now I have N54 intake manifold with software from BPC (in US) but I’ll be going back to 3 stage manifold keeping the N54 TB. My clutch is SPEC stage 2 with lighten DMF but I’ll be installing aluminum SMF. Differential is 3.64 3 clutch LSD. Suspension is front and rear M3 with Bilstein B16 (front shock had to be modified to fit non M3 wheel carrier), Vorschlag camber plates. Solid aluminum subframe bushings (swapped from M3 bushings). Brakes are BMW Performance. Rear wheel carriers and hand brakes are from 335i to be able to fit bigger brakes. Interior is M packet (original), ultimate clutch pedal, CAE ultimate shifter, Awron data display, Aim Solo lap timer, Performance alcantara steering wheel and Sparco seats. Exterior has M3 body kit and Seibon CF hood.

https://afepower.com/afe-power-48-36...-street-series Afe headers don’t throw CEL because they have free flow cats and I passed sniffer and OBD test. If you remove the secondary cats you need NOX simulator (for N53) otherwise you will have rich fuel mixture.

Ya, I overlooked that part, my bad. Anyway, with there 330 conversion, it shouldn't be that hard to achieve those numbers. Between there oem hardware and tuning, those n53 make a great starting point compared to ours. I'm surprised no one has tried to make a n54 na here. There is so much aftermarket support for it, it would sound like a great way to make a forged na motor on the cheap.

I m not even sure what the power of the n54 engine is without its turbo charger Assuming it produces 305 hp at the crank with a turbocharger, I imagine the power output without a turbo would be less or dead even with the n52 . I m assuming the is the reason we do not see n54 engine swap into the n52 , aside from other hardware problems into trying to fit one , plus all the tuning and computer related issues |
