JB1 or JB2

Everyone that has JB1, JB2, JB2H etc..... When you install it and then take it off for maintenance at the dealer. Does the dealer know if you have been using it? The dealership over here is very picky compared to the US. Putting on a intake voids warranty here! Never had that problem in the US. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bro it is starting to be worse here in Singapore too. Every dealer around the world seems to be on the lookout on mods on the 335. Pretty fucked up. Now is the best time to mod an ///M or other series. All eyes on the 335. Shit for luck.

Like is said before, no technician wants to do a job like replacing turbos on the N54 under warranty. It wastes their times, and therefore cuts their income since warranty rates pay the technician poorly. So the tech will be the first person to notify the service manager if he sees something suspicious. And secondly, even if the technician wanted to do it, it would have to get past the approval of the shop foreman, PUMA, and/or the field service engineer. Not a good scenario for warranty coverage on a modded car.

I want to install this and then take it out before i take it to the dealer for it's 1st maintenance. Some guys on here say the dealer can't trace it once you take it out. I am very skeptical about this. I appreciate your guys help. Need more inputs fellas.

It is untracable as long as you dont install it roughly. Be careful and dont scratch shit up or leave tape residue and you will be fine....

Make sure you don't have the latest computer either...March 08 or later.

Also after you hit the dealer, they'll upgrade the software on board, then you're officially screwed.

Are you sure they would upgrade to the latest software without there being any previous reason for doing so (i.e. problem with cars current software such as GPS glitches, I-drive, etc.). I say this because last year I really wanted that latest Progman version so that I could search for restaurants by name. But the only way I got it was to complain about a problem with GPS.

So if you don't have a software issue, then why would they upgrade it.

Or if they would anyway, can you request that they don't

Per Terry, the JB1 and I THINK the JB2 is invisible to the new DME, just don't leave clear signs of an install.

JB2 is invisible as long as you dont hook up the fuel adjustments (blue and green)
