Hi all,

I know lots of people have the Mperformance exhaust and this comes with the BMW warranty etc, I'm interested if anyone has gone with an aftermarket exhaust on their new car? I'm considering a few options at the moment with the likelihood of a remap at the same time.

Any recommendations/reviews would be most useful

It’s worth speaking to MSL Performance, they do remaps and exhaust systems.

Awe Tuning do a nice exhaust for the 40i with 102mm diamond black tips. I was toying with this before I went for the MPPSK as the price was about the same so the MPPSK seemed better value including the remap and I preferred the carbon tips also. There are sound files on their website and it does sound good.

In my opinion the Akrapovic evolution exhaust with carbon tips sounds absolutely perfect and looks class, I find the MPE a bit too much in sport mode from the sound clips. Could be different in real life though.

The big but is that the Akrapovic costs £2250 installed, the cheapest I could find. No map, no BMW warranty.

So I can definitely see the attraction to the MPE with it being much cheaper while being warranted.
