Update on Dinan Stage 2 Software

Based upon recent feedback we've received, we've sorted out what appears to be an issue with automatic transmission equipped 335,135,535 cars running our newest stage 2 software version. We've been in contact with several customers who have experienced difficulty, and we ask that anyone experiencing problems contact us directly.

Again, the problem seems to only affect cars with automatic transmissions and our newest stage 2 software release (stages 1 and 3 are performing correctly). The specific symptom is stock boost levels, and so an affected engine will produce significantly less power than intended. Contrary to a couple rumors, this was not caused by the stock BMW program overriding our program, or by any changes in DME encryption. We've tracked it down to a minor programming error, and we will be releasing a corrected software version to dealers next week.

We appreciate everyone's patience and communication. Feel free to call our tech support for further info: 1-800-341-5480.

Thanks

What gains does the stage 2 tune provide? How much? I'm interested.

dinan of morgan hill called me in less than 2hrs which i think for any car shop is awesome. My car got hit with a dsc error during flash odd. but cleared all the codes out.
I could perhaps put a boost gauge on but i'd rather get the right flash and not have to muck around get my nails durrty.

honesty is worth alot. I have a batch of bad chips. not stable at the rated milliseconds required (or written as valid). went out to customers; bucked; i recalled all chips that month and sent out new ones using a new vendor. Cost? yeah; reputation saved by coming out and saying "isht happens": SAVED.

Nice to see someone admit and take responsibility for an error for a change.

While I agree with you, I think Dinan should feel obliged to give us some kind of refund, partial, maybe restate the 10% discount as this will be the 2nd trip for poorly engineered software, gas spent, etc.

stock is about what 320-330bhp stage 2 is 384? so about +50

bmw underrates their cars imo. so does chevy though.. can't have a 330bhp 335 selling for alot less than an m3

Stage I, FROM THE SITE:

Peak Horsepower *366 at 5700 rpm

Peak Torque *379 lb-ft torque at 4300 rpm

As far as boost goes, you are correct, it doesn't state the boost for Stage I.

so figure stage one is worth 30 to 40 hp over stock. not bad. only so much those turbo's can do clearly they are suffocating up top.

need to put two GT28's and watch the power climb to 7000rpm+

probably make 500whp easy.

You know i was thinking a single turbo wouldn't be that bad the car has plenty of torque from motor (no boost) plenty to smoke one tire (lol) all day long even if you had no boost so it would be slight if could just throw one big turbo on and say have a nice laggier linear 3000rpm-7000rpm power band.

with 6 speeds (AT) its not slow to reach 3000rpm.

hmm.

dealer needs to fedex overnight those fixes out. I'm rather pissed that i've paid for my product and it will be 2 weeks. Might have to get a refund until they can get their siht together.

As far as i see it; dinan didn't do anything to my car and i paid them alot of dough for stage 2. not cool.
